He's Hardcore! He's Hardcore!

It was a nice change to see this week's ECW show go back to it's hardcore roots and show some good 'ol fashioned balls and attitude. Hardcore Holly, not everyone's facourite ECW transfer, proved his worthy of those ECW initials this week after suffering a veryserious deep gash to his back after going through a table (which required 25 stitches to close). Not only did he continue with the match, but also put on one hell of an extreme showing against RVD. It's moment's like those that made ECW what is was, so hats off to the talent in the Extreme lockeroom! The booking team might be against you, but god damn it - you'll kick-start the revolution yet!

They finally did the right thing .....

It's not often that I look forward to a wrestling PPV anymore .. it seems such a long time ago that a card genuinely excited me, but this year's Unforgiven did, soley for the reason of it hosting Trish Stratus' final match. Now I've been watching Trish when she first came in as a valet, through to her early wrestling career and watched her grow week in week out into the best female wrestler of the modern era... and it's quite sad to see her retire so early.

Usually when a performer leaves the WWE, they're buried horribly (see Bret Hart as possibly the worst example of being ungrateful). But the way they booked Trish's final match was just perfect. A great match, allocated alot of time, high spots galore and just the most fitting ending as Trish made Lita submit for the Women's Championship with Bret Hart's own Sharpshooter (infront of a Toronto, Canada crowd no less). A really fitting ending to such a great career.

Well done WWE, you finally did the right thing!

Planes, Training and Automobiles....

Phew, what a hectic couple of weeks!! August ended with an impromptu work trip to Germany on the bank holiday until Thursday evening. I always enjoy a visit to Germany as the folks who work there are so bloody nice!! Especially Anke, Dirk, Heiko and Heinrich. Always involve you and treat you as one of their own, I always look forward to the nights out and the banter.

With a couple of days in the office, the remaining two days was spent on an InDesign training course that Annemarie popped down from Holland for. The course was with the most mentalist of trainers. Lets just say if it was 1940, she'd make a cracking Nazi general with her high pitched orders in broken english. For a moment I thought I was watching a one-man show of 'Allo 'Allo! Plus, in typical 'office' fashion, we spent most of the course emailing each other with sarcastic comments.

When I got back, the friday was spent off down at Ramshackles with Chris and Nick for a thoroughly enjoyable night of indie dancing and fun. The weekend consisted of me plonked infront of my laptop, typing out presentations for a week long meeting for the following of week. Much of which I didn't have chance to present because a certain attendee wouldn't shut the hell up. Don't you just hate those types that have to comment on absolutely everything?! I also had to do a presentation infront of 50 odd dealers which went fantastically I thought!! I'm never too looking forward to talking infront of large crowds, so it's always good when I manage to pull it off!

Right, time to slip back into slackness and laze about for a bit I think!
